so my school has decided to cut out our Mobile learning program. this means that they are taking away our laptops at the end of this year and expecting us to go out and spend $2000 to buy our own for next year. or they gave us the option to buy the old ones that we already have for a "discounted price" BUT the computer will be wiped clean, including the actual OSX mac programming..so basically we get an empty shell of a laptop, then after we buy the empty shell we have to go buy all the programming, the OSX or snowleopard and the adobe suite. In my blind rage I wrote a strongly worded and heavily questioned email to the person who made this decision. I had said i wanted the money i have already paid for the laptop back so i can afford to buy a new one...i have already paid out considerably more than what the computer and programming is worth. i asked why they assumed students would think this was a good idea, and when the fuck did they ask us our opinion to begin with. i mentioned that this will cause alot of people to drop out and they will lose new students who thought about going into the programs and then realize they have to buy their own $2000 laptop. I say Fuck that!
